Sing a Song

Frère Jacques/Are You Sleeping?
(Nursery Rhyme)

Frère Jacques, Frère Jacques,
Dormez-vous? Dormez-vouz?
Sonnez les matines, sonnez les matines
Ding ding dong, ding ding dong.

English Version:
Are you sleeping, are you sleeping?
Brother John, Brother John?
Morning bells are ringing, morning bells are ringing
Ding ding dong, ding ding dong.

Watch

Count sheep with Ernie to help him sleep!

Try This

Make sure you have clear bedtime routines in place. Have your child help you develop those routines. If your child is nervous in the dark, you can make a spray bottle of water to spritz around the room and call it “brave spray” or “monster repellent.” You can also add some lavender oil to the bottle for a nice relaxing smell!

Read a Book

Here are some book recommendations for today. Check out the picture book collection at your local library, where there are lots of books to choose from! Find nearby libraries

  • Don’t Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late by Mo Willems
  • Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site by Sherri Duskey Rinker; illustrated by Tom Lichtenheld
  • Llama, Llama Red Pajama  by Anna Dewdney
  • The Going to Bed Book  by Sandra Boynton
