January 3

Sing a Song

Happily We Eat Our Food

(Tune: "Merrily We Roll Along")

Happily we eat our foods

Eat our foods, Eat our foods

Happily we eat our foods

To grow up big and strong

Happily we drink our milk

Drink our milk, Drink our milk

Happily we drink our milk

To grow up big and strong

Happily we eat our fruits.

Happily we eat our vegetables.

Happily we eat our meat.

Happily we eat our beans.

Happily we eat our breads.

Happily we eat our cereal.

Feel free to add additional foods into the song that your child enjoys.

Try This

Meal plan for each week and let your child help you pick out fruits and vegetables for each day. Let them choose what fruit and vegetable they eat with each meal. This will help them build independence and make good choices about their eating habits. Make healthy alternatives to sugary snacks with your child like ants on a log (celery with peanut butter and raisins) or ice cream made from frozen bananas (peel and freeze bananas, blend with milk or yogurt until you get the consistency of ice cream, and enjoy with your favorite toppings!). Your child can join you while you make these healthy snacks and you can talk about the importance of choosing healthy foods.

Read a Book
