Sing a Song

(Tune: “Row, Row, Row Your Boat”)

Wash, wash
Wash your hands
Wash them nice and clean.
Scrub them here (with hand motion scrubbing together)
Scrub them there (with hand motion scrubbing tops of hands)
And scrub them in between (with hand motion scrubbing between fingers).
Wash, wash, wash, your hands
Play our handy game
Rub and scrub, scrub and rub
Germs go down the drain HEY!

Try This

Pick a song that is about 20 seconds long and sing that while you and your child practice washing hands. This will get them in the habit of singing this song while practicing proper hygiene!

To make hand washing more fun you and your child can make soap and use that while washing their hands. Making soap with your child will expose them to following a recipe and experimentation. You can also buy new scents of soap and have your child guess what the scent it. Providing additional soaps can make this important routine a fun one!
