March 19

Sing a Song

Leaves are Falling
(Tune “London Bridges Falling Down”)

Leaves are falling all around (Hands over head, bring them ‘falling’ down)
On the roof tops, on the ground. (Tent fingertips over head, touch floor)
Leaves are falling on my nose, (Reach and touch nose and other body parts as “leaves” are falling)
Leaves are falling on my head Leaves are falling on my knees
Leaves are falling on my toes Leaves are falling all around

Try This

The theme for March is SEASONS. Imagine what your neighborhood looks like in the fall. You would see many leaves on the ground. Pretend to be falling leaves! Talk together about why leaves fall off the trees. Talking about science helps kids feel confident exploring it now and in school.

Read a Book

Here are two book recommendations for today. Check out the picture book collection at your local library, where there are lots of books to choose from! Find nearby libraries

  • One leaf, two leaves, count with me! by John Mickolos Jr.; illustrated by Clive McFarland
  • Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn by Kendard Pak
