Sing a Song

Five little pumpkins

Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate.
The first one said, "Oh my it's getting late."
The second one said, "There are witches in the air."
The third one said, "But I don't care."
The fourth one said, "I'm ready for some fun!"
The fifth one said, "Let's run and run and run."
"Wooooooo" went the wind,
And out went the lights.
And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.

Big Pumpkin – SUPER WHY!

Try This

Use pumpkin goop and seeds as a sensory experience.  Squish, squeeze and pick out the seeds.  Share language that describes what you are doing. After washing the seeds, coat them in olive oil, cover in spices and roast.  Discuss how they taste when you eat them together as a healthy snack.

Read a Book

Here are two book recommendations for today. Check out the picture book collection at your local library, where there are lots of books to choose from! Find nearby libraries

  • Penguin and Pumpkin by Salina Yoon
  • Ten Orange Pumpkins: A Counting Book by Stephen Savage
