Sing a Song

Our Baby (folksong)

Cheeks of rose, tiny toes,
Has our little baby;
Eyes of blue, fingers too,
Cunning all as may be.
Mouth so fair, skin so clear,
Just as soft as may be;
Bonny eyes, looking wise,
Such a precious baby.

Thee I love, sweetest dove,
Darling little baby!
While I live, thee I'll give
Kisses warm as may be.

Crow and play all the day,
Happy little baby!
May your life, free from strife,
Pure as 'tis today be.

Watch

Make a beautiful piece of art with your child using pastel colored chalk!

Try This

Rose, peach, and lavender are a few examples of pastel colors. What time of year do we usually see pastel colors? Explore seasonal colors with your child and how spring is just around the corner. If you want to make your own pastel eggs, follow these directions. Boil the eggs. Once they are cool dip them in a cup with vinegar and a few drops of food coloring. Experiment with making your own shades of pastels!

Read a Book

Here are two book recommendations for today. Check out the picture book collection at your local library, where there are lots of books to choose from! Find nearby libraries

  • All the Pretty Little Horses: A Traditional Lullaby illustrated by Linda Saport
  • The Case of the Missing Chalk Drawings by Richard Byrne
