Sing a Song

Orange Tiger

Oh, I saw an orange tiger,
A tiger, a tiger;
Oh, I saw an orange tiger
With lots of black stripes

With stripes all in black
In the front and the back;
Oh, I saw an orange tiger
With lots of black stripes.

Learning Colors for Kids: Black Orange Purple

Try This

Today's colors are orange and black. Can your child think of an animal that is orange and black? Give a name to the animal and then tell a story about the animal. Have your child move like that animal (swim like a fish, walk like a tiger, slither like a snake), then draw a picture to go with the story.

Go on a scavenger hunt inside and find all of the items in your home that are black and orange!

Read a Book

Here are two book recommendations for today. Check out the picture book collection at your local library, where there are lots of books to choose from! Find nearby libraries

  • It's an Orange Aardvark! by Michael Hall
  • Zigzag Zooborns!: Zoo Baby Colors and Patterns by Andrew Bleiman and Chris Eastland
